Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

MacroAI (hereinafter referred to as 'the Software') respects and protects user privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Software collects, uses, and stores your information during operation. By using the Software, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Information Collection

MacroAI is a locally-run macro automation tool (supporting both Windows and Android platforms). Apart from the minimum network information required by the version check request described in Section 3, we solemnly commit that:

• The Software does not collect your name, email address, account, or other identity information, nor does it collect your usage habits or operation records;
• The Software does not send any data to any server other than via the version check request;
• The Software contains no advertising SDK and integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection service;
• All functional processing is performed on your local device.

Scripts, images, configuration files, and other data you create during use are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to any remote server. Your screen content, keyboard/mouse input, and script contents never leave your device.

3. Network Access

The Software establishes network connections only for version checks, as follows:

Windows (all channels, including Microsoft Store)

Approximately 5 seconds after launch the Software sends one version check request; thereafter, for as long as it keeps running, it sends one every 12 hours to read the latest version number from the server. Updates still require you to download and run the installer yourself — the Software never downloads or installs anything on its own.

When installed from the Microsoft Store, the same request is sent, but solely for the counting purpose described at the end of this section: the app does not parse the response, and neither prompts you to download nor performs any update. Store-channel updates are handled by Microsoft Store itself.

Android (Google Play channel)

This build establishes no network connections at all; updates are provided entirely by Google Play.

Android (official website and other channels)

At most one version check request every 24 hours, to read the latest version number.

How version check request data is handled

• The request carries no name, email address, account, device identifier, script content, or screen information;
• The server combines your IP address and User-Agent with a fixed salt value and computes a one-way hash, used only to count distinct users per day. The server does not store your original IP address, nor your User-Agent in plain text;
• The Software sets no cookies and uses no third-party tracking identifiers; the hash is not linked to your account or any device identifier, and cannot be used to trace you across days;
• These data points are stored in Cloudflare Analytics Engine and expire automatically after at most 3 months (the hard limit of that service).

4. Third-Party Services

The Software integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection SDK. Version check requests are served by Cloudflare's CDN and analytics service (Analytics Engine), used for edge delivery and the per-day de-duplicated counting described in Section 3; see Section 3 for how that data is handled. Open-source components used by the Software run as local libraries and do not communicate with external servers.

5. Android Permissions

MacroAI for Android uses the following system permissions. All permissions are used solely to enable automation features and are never used to collect personal information:

• Accessibility Service: Used to perform automated gestures such as taps and swipes, and to read UI element information;
• Screen capture permission (MediaProjection): Used only when scripts require image recognition or OCR, to capture screen content for local analysis;
• All captured screenshots are processed temporarily in memory only and are never saved, uploaded, or shared with any third party.

6. Data Storage and Security

All data generated while using the Software (including script configurations, template images, user configurations, etc.) is stored in local directories on your computer. We recommend regular backups of important data. Since all data is stored locally, data security is ensured by your own system security measures.

7. Children's Privacy

The Software is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with an updated 'Last updated' date. If future versions introduce account systems, cloud services, or other features that require data collection, we will update this policy in a timely manner and notify you through in-app notifications.
